Installation Procedure
- Prepare the brake pedal push rod bolt for installation as follows:
- Remove all traces of the adhesive patch from the bolt and the mating threads using the appropriate tools.
- Clean the threads of the bolt and mating threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the bolt. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the bolt.
- Position the brake pedal assembly to the upper dash panel stud.
- Loosely install the brake pedal assembly upper nut.
- From inside the engine compartment, remove the mechanics wire and position the power brake booster and master cylinder assembly to the dash panel.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Install the brake pedal assembly upper nut (1) and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
Install the right side power brake booster nuts (1) and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
Install the left side power brake booster nuts (1) and tighten to 23 N.m (17 lb ft).
- Connect the brake pedal pushrod to the brake pedal.
Install the brake pedal pushrod bolt (1) and bushing (2) and tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

- Install the instrument panel tie bar. Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement
NOTE:
Do not tighten the brake pedal assembly upper nut at this step.
