Installation Procedure
- Install the transmission to the engine. Transmission Replacement (FWD)
- Position the powertrain and support table under the vehicle.
- Raise the powertrain into position under the vehicle.
- With the table positioned, if required, lower the vehicle over the powertrain.
- Install the drivetrain and front suspension cradle to the vehicle. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (Front Wheel Drive)
- Lower the vehicle.
Left Transmission Mount Bolt (3) - Install (Qty: 3) - Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side
Engine Mount Bolt (1) - Install (Qty: 2) - Engine Mount Replacement
Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable (3) - Connect - Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Replacement
- Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose @ Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe - Connect - Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV From Radiator Surge Tank to Radiator and Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe)
- Left Front Wheel Drive Shaft - Install - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Left Side
- Right Front Wheel Drive Shaft - Install - Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side (FWD)
- Exhaust Front Pipe - Install - Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LCV)
Connect the intermediate shaft (2) then install the intermediate shaft pinch bolt (1). Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
- NOTE:
Connect the left and right sides. Left side shown, right side similar.
Front Stabilizer Shaft Link (2) @ Front Stabilizer Shaft - Connect - Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement
- NOTE:
Connect the left and right sides. Left side shown, right side similar.
Connect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle. (3) Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe (1) @ Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Outlet Pipe (2) - Connect - Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection
Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe (1) @ Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Inlet Pipe (2) - Connect - Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection
Heater Inlet Hose (3) - Install - Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV with Rear Aux HVAC Heater Inlet and Outlet Pipe to Quick Connect)Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV with Rear Aux HVAC Quick Connect Connector to Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube)Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV without Rear Aux HVAC Heater Inlet and Outlet Pipe to Quick Connect) .
Heater Outlet Hose (2) - Install - Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV Quick Connect Connector to Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube)Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV Water Outlet to Heater Coolant Pump)Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV without Rear Aux HVAC Heater Outlet Hose Connector to Heater Core Connector)
Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose (3) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Install - Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Replacement (LCV)
Radiator Inlet Hose (2) - Install - Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV)
Radiator Outlet Hose (2) - Install - Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV)
Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Hose (1) - Install - Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Hose Replacement
Air Cleaner Assembly (1) - Install - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
Power Brake Booster Vacuum Hose (1) - Install - Power Brake Booster Vacuum Hose Replacement (LCV)
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without KL9)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With KL9)
- Fill the cooling system to the proper level. Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
Fuel Feed Front Pipe (1) - Install - Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement
- Battery Tray - Install - Battery Tray Replacement
- Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
- If the engine is replaced with a new engine or has been overhauled, perform the engine prelubing procedure. Engine Prelubing
- If prelubing has not been performed, fill the engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
Prelube is necessary if the engine is replaced or overhauled.
