Removal Procedure

- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube - Remove - Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement
- Remove the ignition coil. Ignition Coil Replacement
Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Remove
- Wiring Harness (2) - Reposition away
- Vacuum Pump - Remove - Vacuum Pump Replacement
- Camshaft Cover Heat Shield - Remove - Camshaft Cover Heat Shield Replacement
- Oil Level Indicator - Remove
- Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe - Remove - Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Replacement (LCV) - Remove
- Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve - Intake - Remove - Camshaft Position Actuator Intake Solenoid Valve Replacement
- Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve - Exhaust - Remove - Camshaft Position Actuator Exhaust Solenoid Valve Replacement
- NOTE:
Note the location of the four long camshaft cover bolts (1) for proper installation.
Camshaft Cover Bolt (1) - Remove (Qty: 4)
- Camshaft Cover Washer (2) - Remove
- Camshaft Cover Bolt (3) - Remove (Qty: 19)
- Camshaft Cover (4) - Remove
Camshaft Cover Gasket (1) - Remove and DISCARD
- If reinstalling the camshaft cover (2), clean and inspect as needed. Camshaft Cover Cleaning and Inspection
NOTE:
Inspect for damage and replace as needed.
