Removal Procedure

- Remove Water Pump Inlet Pipe (2) - Water Pump Inlet Pipe Replacement (LGX)
- Remove Water Pump Pulley (2) - Water Pump Pulley Replacement (LGX)
- Remove Crankshaft Balancer- Crankshaft Balancer Replacement
- Remove Camshaft Cover - Left Side (2) - Camshaft Cover Replacement - Left Side
- Remove Camshaft Cover - Right Side (2) - Camshaft Cover Replacement - Right Side
- Remove Oil Pan - Oil Pan Replacement (AWD) Oil Pan Replacement (FWD)
- Remove the engine front cover with the water pump. Engine Front Cover Removal
- Remove Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Harness - Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Harness Replacement
- Disassemble the engine front cover. Engine Front Cover Disassemble
- Carefully clean the engine front cover sealing surfaces. Engine Front Cover Cleaning and Inspection
- Use compressed air in order to remove any engine coolant from the engine cooling passages and from the top of the oil pan scraper (windage tray).
NOTE:
Do NOT use sharp and/or metal gasket scrapers in order to clean the sealing surfaces.
NOTE:
Insert a piece of cardboard between the oil pan front and the oil pump in order to prevent any contaminants from falling into the oil pan.
