Installation Procedure

- With the aid of an assistant, carefully lower the body to the frame.(1)
- Ensure the following components are clear from the frame:
- Vacuum lines
- Steering knuckles
- Electrical wiring harnesses
- Install Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Bolt (2) and tighten the NEW bolt.
- First Pass: 160 N.m (118 lb ft)
- Final Pass:(60-75 degrees)
- Install Front Cradle Mount Bolt Bracket Bolt (1) and tighten 58 N.m (43 lb ft)
- Remove the EN-39580 Support Stand from under the vehicle.
- Connect the electrical connector on the steering gear and connect the wiring harness clip on the steering gear housing.(1)
- Install Stabilizer Shaft Link (2) @Stabilizer Shaft Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement
- Install Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod (3) @Steering Knuckle Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
- Install Front Lower Control Arm (1) @Steering Knuckle Lower Control Arm Replacement
- Connect { If equipped } Front Suspension Automatic Forward Lighting Position Sensor (1) @Front Lower Control Arm
- Install Front Wheelhouse Liner (2) Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement
- Remove Front Transmission Mount Through Bolt (1) Transmission Front Mount Replacement
- Install Rear Transmission Mount Through Bolt (1) Transmission Rear Mount Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)Transmission Rear Mount Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Install Exhaust Front Pipe Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (Bank 1, LGX)Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (Bank 2, LGX)Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement (LCV)
- Install the front tires and wheels. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install Intermediate Steering Shaft (2) @Steering Gear Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement
- Remove the engine support fixture.
- Perform a wheel alignment, refer to Wheel Alignment - Steering Wheel Angle and/or Front Toe Adjustment
CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
