Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without KL9)Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With KL9)
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) 
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE-47716)Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)
  4. Remove Heater Inlet Hose Connector @ Heater Core Tube. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Connector Replacement (without Rear Aux HVAC) Heater Inlet Hose Connector Replacement (with Rear Aux HVAC) Heater Inlet Hose Connector Replacement (with Rear Aux HVAC Heater Inlet Hose to Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube) 
  5. Remove Heater Outlet Hose Connector @ Heater Core Tube. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Connector Replacement (without Rear Aux HVAC) Heater Outlet Hose Connector Replacement (with Rear Aux HVAC) Heater Outlet Hose Connector Replacement (LCV without Rear Aux HVAC at Heater Outlet Pipe) Heater Outlet Hose Connector Replacement (with Rear Aux HVAC Heater Outlet Hose to Auxiliary Air Conditioning Evaporator Intermediate Tube) Heater Outlet Hose Connector Replacement (LCV with Rear Aux HVAC at Heater Outlet Pipe)

  6. Remove Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger (2) @ Air Conditioning Evaporator Thermal Expansion Valve. Refer to Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger Replacement (LGX With C69) Air Conditioning Refrigerant Heat Exchanger Replacement (LCV)

  7. Remove Floor Front Air Outlet Duct - Left Side (2). Refer to Floor Front Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side 
  8. Remove Front Floor Console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement

  9. Remove Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Drain Hose (1). Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Drain Hose Replacement (Without C59)

  10. Remove Instrument Panel Carrier (1). Refer to Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement (IO5/IO6)Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement (IOB)

  11. Remove Windshield Defroster Outlet Duct (1). Refer to Windshield Defroster Outlet Duct Replacement 
  12. Remove Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct (2) - Left Side. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Replacement (Left) Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Replacement (Right) 
  13. Remove Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct (3) - Right Side. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Replacement (Left) Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Replacement (Right) 
  14. Remove Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Right Side (4). Refer to Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side 
  15. Remove Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct - Right Side (5)
  16. Remove Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Left Side (6). Refer to Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side 
  17. Remove Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Duct - Left Side (7)
  18. Temporarily support the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module assembly.

  19. From within the engine compartment, remove the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module assembly (HVAC) nut (1) securing the HVAC module assembly to the cowl panel.

  20. Remove Instrument Panel Tie Bar (2). Refer to Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement

  22. Remove Floor Rear Air Outlet Duct Adapter (1) - Right Side. Refer to Floor Rear Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side

    Refer to HVAC Module Drain Tube Caution .

  23. Remove Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module (1)
  24. Transfer components as necessary.
