Removal Procedure

CAUTION:
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .
- Remove the plenum front panel. Refer to Plenum Front Panel Replacement
- Disconnect the heater inlet pipe from the heater core only. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LGX)
- Disconnect the heater outlet pipe from the heater core only. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LGX)
- Remove Power Vacuum Brake Booster. Refer to Power Vacuum Brake Booster Replacement
- Without removing the steering shafts from the vehicle, separate the upper intermediate steering shaft from the mid intermediate steering shaft. Refer to Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (RWD With LF4, LGX)Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement (AWD With LGX, LTG)
- Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement (LF4, LGX)
- Release the brake pipe from the retaining clips (1).
- Release the brake pipe from the retaining clips (1) on the cowl.
- Release the brake pipe from the retaining clip (1).
- Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve primary brake pipe fitting (1) at the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).
- Plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove the brake pressure modulator valve primary brake pipe.
