Installation Procedure

Install the parking brake shoes to the rear brake backing plate.
Position the lower portion of the parking brake shoes into the notches of the parking brake shoe actuator lever.

Install the parking brake shoe lower return spring (1).
Position the parking brake shoe lower return spring between the parking brake shoe anchor (2) and the actuator lever (3).

Install the parking brake shoe hold down springs (1) by compressing the hold down springs and rotating the spring 1/4 turn and installing the hold down spring pins.

Rotate the parking brake shoe adjuster to the fully retracted position and install the parking brake shoe adjuster (1).

Install the parking brake shoe upper return spring (1).
Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Parking Brake Adjustment .
Install the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (JE5, J55)Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (J6G) .
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Non V-Series)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series) .
Enable the parking brake cable adjuster. Refer to Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (Without J77) Parking Brake Cable Adjuster Enabling (With J77) .
