Preliminary Procedures Remove the drivers side instrument panel lower trim panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Replacement (Left Side)Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Replacement (Right Side) . Remove the instrument panel knee bolster assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Replacement . Remove the left side front floor console extension panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Left Side . Remove the left side floor rear air outlet duct. Refer to Floor Rear Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side .
1	Mode Valve Actuator Gear Fastener CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
2	Mode Valve Actuator Gear Washer
3	Mode Valve Actuator Gear - Rod Side Procedure Disconnect the heater and air conditioning control temperature rod. Align the rod side mode valve actuator gear wider female tooth, to the wider mode door valve actuator gear male tooth.
4	Mode Valve Actuator Gear - Door Side Procedure Unlatch the mode valve actuator gear detent, and slide door side mode valve actuator gear off. Align the rod side mode valve actuator gear wider female tooth, to the wider mode door valve actuator gear male tooth.
