Headlamp Leveling Actuator Replacement (Right Side with TR7, T4F)

In order to reduce the risk of severe shocks and burns, the battery negative cable must be disconnected any time service work is being performed on or around the high intensity discharge system. To reduce the risk of severe shocks and burns: Never open the high intensity discharge system ballast or the arc tube assembly starter. Never probe between the high intensity discharge system ballast output connector and the arc tube assembly. Preliminary Procedure Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Sedan) Headlamp Replacement (Coupe with HID) Headlamp Replacement (Coupe with Halogen) . Remove the headlamp bulb access cover. Refer to Headlamp Bulb Access Cover Replacement (Sedan with HID) Headlamp Bulb Access Cover Replacement (Coupe with HID) .
1	Headlamp Leveling Actuator Procedure Disconnect the electrical connector. Rotate the headlamp leveling actuator counterclockwise to release, then pull the actuator out 6 mm (1/4 in) and tip the ball end downward to remove the ball from the rail socket. Position the headlamp leveling actuator near its middle of allowed movement, then insert the ball end into the rail opening and with the ball end tipped downward install into the rail socket. NOTE: Test the ball socket connection. Prior to locking the actuator in place, use one hand to hold the actuator near the installed position and use the other hand to push the actuator inward (up) then gently pull the actuator back.

Preliminary Procedure

Headlamp Leveling Actuator

Procedure

Disconnect the electrical connector.
Rotate the headlamp leveling actuator counterclockwise to release, then pull the actuator out 6 mm (1/4 in) and tip the ball end downward to remove the ball from the rail socket.
Position the headlamp leveling actuator near its middle of allowed movement, then insert the ball end into the rail opening and with the ball end tipped downward install into the rail socket.

NOTE:

Test the ball socket connection. Prior to locking the actuator in place, use one hand to hold the actuator near the installed position and use the other hand to push the actuator inward (up) then gently pull the actuator back.
