Installation Procedure

- Position the front lower control rear link (2) in the steering knuckle.
- Position the front lower control rear link (2) in the frame.
- Install the NEW front lower control rear link bolt (3) and OLD nut (1).
- Tighten the NEW front lower control rear link bolt (3).
Tighten
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: (90-105 degrees)
- Inspect steering gear boot for damage. If any damage is noted, replace the steering gear boot. Refer to Steering Gear Boot Replacement (Non V-Series)
- Tighten the OLD steering knuckle nut (1).
Tighten
- First Pass: 40 N.m (30 lb ft)
- Final Pass: (120-135 degrees)
- {If equipped} Install Electronic Suspension Front Position Sensor @ Front Lower Control Rear Link. Refer to Electronic Suspension Front Position Sensor Replacement
- Install Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive)Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Install Engine Compartment Lower Noise Shield. Refer to Engine Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)Engine Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (Front Wheel Drive)
- Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Non V-Series)
- Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement
CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
