Removal Procedure

Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
Remove and DISCARD Fuel Feed Pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (Fuel Tank To Engine LF4) Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (LF4 at Engine)
Remove and DISCARD the fuel feed intermediate pipe. Refer to Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement (LF4)

Disconnect Electrical Connector (1) @ Fuel Pump (2)

CAUTION:

Alternately loosen the fuel pump bolts one turn at a time until the pump is fully disengaged from fuel pump lifter follower. Trying to remove the pump bolts without even side-to-side loosening may result in pump plunger damage

Remove and DISCARD the high pressure fuel pump bolts (1).
1. Remove the high pressure fuel pump (2).
2. Remove the valve lifter follower (3).
3. Remove and DISCARD the high pressure fuel pump gasket (4).
4. Remove and DISCARD the high pressure fuel pump O-ring (5).
