Installation Procedure

- Install a NEW O-ring seal.
- Position the oil level indicator and tube (2) by sliding the tube down and in to the approximate location of the lower crankcase hole.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (ATS) .
- Remove Engine Lower Front Splash Shield - Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive)Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Guide the lower portion of the oil level indicator tube into the lower crankcase hole and seat the oil level indicator tube in place
- Install Engine Lower Front Splash Shield - Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (Rear Wheel Drive)Front Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (All Wheel Drive)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the oil level indicator tube bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
