Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LF4) .
  2. Remove the engine coolant fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LF4) .
  3. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (LF4 - Manual Transmission)Starter Replacement (LF4 - Automatic Transmission) .
  4. Remove the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (V-Series) .

  5. Install the EN-46106  tool (1) through the starter mounting hole.

  6. Remove the crankshaft balancer bolt and washer (1). Discard the bolt.

  7. Install the EN-38416-2  button (2) in the nose of the crankshaft.
  8. Install the EN-41816  remover (1) in order to remove the crankshaft balancer (3).
  9. Tighten the center bolt of the EN-41816  remover (1) in order to pull the crankshaft balancer off of the crankshaft.
  10. Remove the EN-41816  remover and EN-38416-2  button from the crankshaft balancer.
