Installation Procedure

The EN-46106 tool (1) must be installed onto the flywheel.

NOTE:

Do not lubricate the crankshaft front oil seal or crankshaft balancer sealing surfaces. The crankshaft balancer is installed into a dry seal.

Apply lubricant to the inside of the crankshaft balancer hub bore.

Place the crankshaft balancer (1) in position on the crankshaft.
Thread the EN-41998-B installer (2) in the crankshaft. Ensure you engage at least 10 threads of the EN-41998-B installer before pressing the crankshaft balancer in place.
Push the crankshaft balancer into position by tightening the nut on the EN-41998-B installer until the large washer bottoms out on the crankshaft end.
Remove the EN-41998-B installer.

NOTE:

Always install a new crankshaft balancer retaining bolt (1) and washer.

Install the NEW crankshaft balancer bolt (1).

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 100 N.m (74 lb ft) and an additional 150 degrees using the EN-45059 meter.

Remove the EN-46106 tool (1).
Install the stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement (V-Series) .
Install the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (LF4 - Manual Transmission)Starter Replacement (LF4 - Automatic Transmission) .
Install the engine coolant fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Shroud Replacement (LF4) .
Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (LF4) .
