Transmission Control Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the front floor console accessory trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
2. Remove the left front lower console side finish cover. Refer to Front Floor Lower Console Side Finish Cover Replacement - Left Side (Equinox)Front Floor Lower Console Side Finish Cover Replacement - Left Side (Terrain) .
WARNING:

After installing the transmission range selector shift cable, pull up and push down on ALL connections to verify that the connections are fully seated and properly engaged. Failure to perform this task can result in the vehicle not being able to shift into PARK causing potential vehicle damage and bodily injury.

3. Disconnect the range selector lever cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement .
4. Disconnect the transmission control electrical connectors.
5. Remove the screws securing upper control structure to lower console.
