Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering fluid cooler to the vehicle.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the power steering fluid cooler bolts (2) to the power steering fluid cooler (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the power steering fluid cooler hose (3) to the power steering pump (1).
  6. Connect the power steering gear outlet hose (2) to the power steering fluid cooler (4).
  7. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  9. Install the radiator grille. Refer to Radiator Grille Replacement (Chevrolet) or Radiator Grille Replacement (GMC) .
