Radiator Support Replacement

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the front bumper impact bar. Refer to Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement (Chevrolet) or Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement (GMC) .
  2. Remove the hood latch. Refer to Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement .
  3. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L) , Radiator Replacement (HP2) or Radiator Replacement (LMM) .
  4. Remove auto transmission cooler if equipped. Refer to Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Replacement .
  5. Remove power steering cooler bolt and reposition.
  6. Remove the A/C condenser. Refer to Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement (LMM Diesel) or Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement (Gas) .
  7. Remove radiator air baffles.
  8. Remove the washer bottle. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement .
  9. Remove front impact sensors.
  10. Remove PCM bracket bolts and reposition.
  11. Remove horn Horn Replacement - Left Side (Chevrolet) or Horn Replacement - Left Side (GMC) .
  12. Disconnect ground from the frame if equipped.
  13. Remove the grill mounting bracket. Refer to Hood Stop Bumper Bracket Replacement .
  14. Unclip electrical harness from the radiator support.
1 Radiator Support Mount Nut (Qty: 2)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  70 N.m (52 lb ft)

2 Radiator Support Mount Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  70 N.m (52 lb ft)

3 Radiator Support
Tip:  Transfer any parts as needed.
