Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LY7) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (LLT) .
  2. Remove the high pressure pump shield. Refer to Fuel Pipe Shield Replacement (LLT) .
  3. Relieve the low side fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief (With CH 48027 - LY7)  or Fuel Pressure Relief (Without CH 48027 - LY7)  or Fuel Pressure Relief (With High Pressure Pump - LLT) .
  4. Remove the radiator surge tank outlet pipe. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement (LLT) or Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Hose/Pipe Replacement (LY7/LLT) .

  6. Disconnect the fuel feed line quick connect fitting from the fuel feed pipe (2). Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  7. Loosen the fuel feed pipe fitting to the high pressure fuel pump.
  8. Remove the fuel feed pipe bolts (4) from the cylinder heads.
  9. Remove the fuel feed pipe from the engine and high pressure fuel pump.
