Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Bearing Thrust Washer - Assemble - Off Vehicle

Tools Required

    Fig 1: Thrust Washer, Upper Bearing Spring, Turn Signal Cancel Cam Assembly & Cam Orientation Plate

  1. Install the following parts onto the steering shaft assembly:
    1. The thrust washer (1).
    2. The upper bearing spring (2).
  2. Lubricate the turn signal cancel cam assembly (3) with lithium grease.
  3. Install the turn signal cancel cam assembly (3) onto the steering shaft assembly.
  4. Install the cam orientation plate (4) onto the steering shaft assembly.

  6. Install the new bearing retainer onto the steering shaft assembly.
  7. Compress the cam orientation plate using J 23653-SIR and J 42137  .
  8. Firmly seat the bearing retainer into the groove on the steering shaft assembly.
  9. Remove J 23653-SIR .
  10. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  11. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to ACTIVATING SYSTEM in SIR.
