Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing & Jacket - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift Standard)

  1. Attach the steering column support assembly (2) to the steering column jacket assembly (3) with 4 TORX head screws (1). Tighten the screws to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  2. Install the steering shaft assembly (1) into the steering column support assembly (2).

  3. Install the adapter and bearing assembly (1) onto the steering column jacket assembly.
  4. Install the linear shift assembly. Refer to Linear Shift Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift) .
  5. Install the turn signal and multifunctional switch assembly. Refer to Turn Signal & Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  6. Install the electronic lock module assembly. Refer to Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Column Shift)  or Electronic Column Lock Module - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift)  .
  7. Install the steering column into the vehicle. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  8. Install the steering wheel onto the steering column. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  9. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
