Installation Procedure

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

Install the nuts and bolts that retain the instrument panel steering column reinforcement bracket to the instrument panel carrier.

Tighten

Tighten the nuts and bolts to the steering column reinforcement bracket to the instrument panel carrier to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
Install the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) CLUSTER .
Install the instrument cluster to the instrument panel carrier with 4 retaining screws.

Install the nuts that retain the assist handle to the passenger's side of the instrument panel.
Tighten

Tighten the nuts that retain the assist handle to the passenger's side of the instrument panel to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
Install the heater control head. Refer to HVAC CONTROL ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
Install the 2 bolts that retain the RKE module to the carrier.

Tighten

Tighten the 2 bolts that retain the RKE module to the carrier to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
Install the radio, if equipped. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT in Entertainment.
Install the inflatable restraint I/P module. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL INFLATABLE RESTRAINT SYSTEM in SIR.

Install the instrument panel to the vehicle. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT .
Enable the SIR. DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in SIR.
