Thrust Bearing

- Thrust bearing is located on No. 2 main bearing. Replace thrust bearing if crankshaft end play is not within specification. See CRANKSHAFT, MAIN & CONNECTING ROD BEARINGS SPECIFICATIONS table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS.
- To obtain the correct thrust bearing alignment, install all main bearing cap bolts finger tighten. Tighten main bearing cap bolts to specification on No. 1, 3 and 4 main bearing caps. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Pry crankshaft toward rear of cylinder block, and then back toward front of cylinder block. Hold crankshaft in forward position. Tighten main bearing cap bolts to specification on No. 2 main bearing cap.
