Intermediate Shaft Specifications: Installation

  1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Lubricate distributor drive gear before installing. Apply a 1/16" bead of anaerobic gasket sealant on seal retainer before installing.
  2. Install seal retainer, and tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Using Intermediate Shaft/Camshaft Seal Installer (C-4680), install seal until even with surface. See Figure. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
