Test TC-33A - EGR System Failure (DTC 32)

  1. EGR solenoid and EGR valve are located under intake manifold. Start engine. Allow engine to reach operating temperature. Raise engine speed to 1700 RPM. Using scan tool, select EGR OFF test and record Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor reading displayed on scan tool. Select EGR FLOW test and record MAP sensor reading. If difference in readings is more than 0.5 in. Hg, EGR system is operating properly. Test passed.
    NOTE: Removal of intake manifold is required in following step.
  2. If difference in readings is less than 0.5 in. Hg, remove intake manifold for access to EGR assembly. Ensure hoses are connected and inspect for leaks. Repair or replace hoses as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2. If hoses are okay, replace EGR assembly. Perform TEST VER-2.
