Engine - LHD AWD

- Using the floor crane, lower the engine onto the engine crossmember.Use the General Equipment: Floor Crane
- Install new engine mount nuts.
Torque: 115 Nm
- Remove the floor crane.Use the General Equipment: Floor Crane
- Remove the LH engine lift eye.Use Special Service Tool: 303-1245 Engine Lift Eye.
- Install the LH heat shield and the bolts.
Torque: 24 Nm
- Using the powertrain lift table raise the engine into the vehicle.
- Install new engine crossmember bolts.
Torque: 63 Nm
- Install the RH engine crossmember bracket and new bolts.
Torque: 30 Nm
- Install new RH engine crossmember bracket bolts.
Torque: 63 Nm
- Install the LH engine crossmember bracket and new bolts.
Torque: 30 Nm
- Install new LH engine crossmember bracket bolts.
Torque: 63 Nm
- Remove the adjustable mounting arm from the RH side of the engine crossmember.Use the General Equipment: Adjustable Mounting Arm
- Remove the adjustable mounting arm from the LH side of the engine crossmember.Use the General Equipment: Adjustable Mounting Arm
- Remove the powertrain lift table and wood blocks.Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block
- Position the complete wiring harness assembly under the LH engine mount bracket towards the front of vehicle.
- Install the wiring harness bolt to the LH side of the engine crossmember.
Torque: 8 Nm
- Install the wiring harness conduit bracket bolt and attach the wiring harness retainer.
Torque: 11 Nm

- Install the transmission cooler coolant hoses and install the clamps.Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Attach the transmission cooler coolant hose retainers.
- Position the coolant hose and install the clamp.Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

- Install the generator B+ terminal nut.
Torque: 15 Nm
- Position the protective cover.
- Connect the generator electrical connector.
- Install the generator B+ terminal nut.
- Position the wiring harness and attach the retainer.
- Install the wiring harness conduit nut.
Torque: 8 Nm
- Install the AWD transmission. Refer to: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 10-SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - 10R80 (SPECIFICATIONS - DIAGNOSIS & TESTING 3.5L DURATEC)
- If equipped with dual generators, install the generator bracket and the bolts finger tight.
- Tighten the bolts and stud bolt in sequence shown.
Torque: Stage 1: Tighten bolts 1 and 2 to: 35 Nm Stage 2: Tighten bolt 3 to: 48 Nm Stage 3: Tighten stud bolt 4 to: 35 Nm
- Tighten the bolts and stud bolt in sequence shown.
- If equipped with dual generators, install the secondary generator. Refer to: Generator - 3.5L Duratec (202kW/275PS) .
- Attach the ground wire retainers.

- Lubricate the oil filter seal with clean engine oil and install and tighten in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Install to initial gasket contact.
- Stage 2: Tighten 3/4 to 1 turn.
- Install the front wheels and tires. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
- Connect the heater hose quick release coupling.
- Disconnect the coolant hoses quick release couplings to the EGR valve.
- Connect the coolant hose quick release coupling to the coolant pump.

- Position the coolant hoses and install the clamps.
- Install the upper and lower coolant hoses and install the clamps.
- Follow directions to connect the quick release coupling type 10. Position the fuel supply tube and connect the quick release coupling. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING
- Connect the PCM electrical connector and the main engine harness connector and wiring harness retainer.
- Install the following items:
- Install the LH headlight. Refer to: Headlamp Assembly .
- Install the A/C compressor. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 3.5L Duratec (202kW/275PS) .
- Install the cooling module. Refer to: Cooling Module .
- Install EVAP purge valve. Refer to: Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve .

- Position the brake vacuum tubes and install the bolt.
Torque: 7 Nm
- Follow directions to connect the quick release coupling type 5. Connect the brake vacuum hose to the upper intake manifold. Refer to: QUICK RELEASE COUPLING
- Position the brake vacuum tubes and install the bolt.
- If equipped with block heater, attach block heater wiring harness retainers.
- If equipped with block heater, attach block heater wiring harness retainers.
- Install the following items:
- Install the A/C compressor belt. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt - Vehicles With: Single Generator . Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt - Vehicles With: Dual Generators .
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe .
- Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - VEHICLES WITH: SINGLE BATTERY or Refer to: BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT - VEHICLES WITH: DUAL BATTERIES
- Fill the engine with clean engine oil. Refer to: Engine Oil Draining and Filling
- Pressurize the fuel system. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Start and check the exhaust system for leaks.
- Use the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Misfire Monitor Profile Correction routine in the diagnostic scan tool.
- Road test the vehicle.
