WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Ford Police Interceptor Utility and 2022 Ford Explorer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Refer to Electric Powertrain Control - System Operation and Component Description .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
SOBDMC P0634:00 Control Module Internal Temperature "A" Too High: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets when the internal circuit board reports an over-temperature condition.

    Possible Sources

    • Electric powertrain cooling concern
    • Inverter System Controller (ISC)

  2. J1 CHECK FOR INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) AND BECM (BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.

    • Record the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BECM self-test.

    • Record the BECMDTCs.

Are any Inverter System Controller (ISC) or BECMDTCs present?

Yes  For any BECMDTCs, DIAGNOSE the BECMDTCs first. Refer to High Voltage Battery, Mounting and Cables . DIAGNOSE all other Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs other than P0634:00 first, Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart . For Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTC P0634:00 only GO to  J2
No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
  3. J2 CHECK THE ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN COOLANT LEVEL

    • Verify the electric powertrain coolant level.

Is the electric powertrain coolant level OK?

Yes  PERFORM the cooling system bleed procedure. Refer to Cooling System Filling and Bleeding .
No  DIAGNOSE the electric powertrain cooling concern. Refer to Electric Powertrain Cooling .
  4. J3 CHECK FOR ANY COOLING SYSTEM CONCERNS

    • Check the electric powertrain cooling system for and repair:

      • contaminated coolant
      • internal or external coolant leaks
      • blockage of the radiator
      • restricted motor electronics cooling system hoses

Are there any cooling system concerns?

Yes  DIAGNOSE the electric powertrain cooling concern. Refer to Electric Powertrain Cooling .
    No  GO to  J4
  5. J4 CLEAR AND CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.

Is DTC P0634:00 the only DTC present in the Inverter System Controller (ISC)?

Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new Inverter System Controller (ISC). Refer to Inverter System Controller [SOBDMC]  .
No  DIAGNOSE any other remaining Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.
