Pinpoint Test E: B1111:54

  1. Refer to VEHICLE DYNAMIC SYSTEMS for schematic and connector information.

    Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Parking Brake .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    ABS B1111:54 Electric Park Brake Enable: Missing Calibration This DTC is only present when a new ABS module is installed, or the ABS module is reconfigured.

    Possible Sources 

    • ABS not configured correctly
    • The EPB Apply and Release routine was not carried out.

  2. E1 CHECK VEHICLE HISTORY

    NOTE: Vehicles with Dual Rear Wheels may have EPB wiring present on vehicle. The EPB system is NOT equipped on these vehicles, but the ABS module may set DTCs for the wiring.

    • Check vehicle history for recent service action with the ABS.

    Were there any recent ABS service actions? 

    Yes  GO to  E2
    No  GO to  E3
  3. E2 CARRY OUT THE ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM) SELF TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS self test.

    Did other ABS module DTCs set? 

    Yes  Diagnose the other ABS DTCs first. Refer to the appropriate ABS DTC chart.
    No  GO to  E3
  4. E3 CARRY OUT THE EPB (ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE) APPLY AND RELEASE ROUTINE

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the EPB Apply and Release routine.

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the ABS DTC.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS self-test.

    Is DTC B1111:54 present? 

    Yes  GO to  E4
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The EPB Apply and Release routine cleared the DTC.
  5. E4 PERFORM THE PMI (PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION) PROCEDURE FOR ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS module PMI procedure. REFER to: Module Programming .

    • Ignition OFF.

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the ABS self-test.

    Is DTC B1111:54 present? 

    Yes  CHECK OASIS for any applicable TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions.If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new ABS REFER to: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE .
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. A not configured correctly ABS module caused the DTC.
