Pinpoint Test Ab: DTC P163E, P163F
- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The PCM stores the transmission identification information in memory. The transmission identification information is located on the label on the side of the transmission.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PCM P163E:00 Transmission Control Module Programming Error: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the transmission identification does not match the version stored in the PCM calibration. PCM P163F:00 Transmission ID Block Corrupted, Not Programmed: No Sub Type Information This DTC sets if the transmission identification is not programmed in the PCM calibration. Possible Sources
- Incorrect or corrupted PCM calibration.
- AB1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the transmission strategy download. REFER to: Transmission Strategy Download .
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the PCM self-test.
Is DTC P163E or P163F present in the PCM?
Yes Refer to PCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING No The fault is not present at this time.
