Underhood Inspection

  1. If the vehicle is equipped with a shift cable, place the transmission in D with the engine off.
  2. Look for missing or damaged air induction components.
  3. Inspect the transmission wire harness for proper routing. Make sure the harness is not chafed or pinched.
  4. Inspect transmission fluid cooler for proper mounting and check for any missing air deflectors.
  5. Adjust the selector lever cable. (If equipped). REFER to: Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - 8-Speed Automatic Transmission - 8F35/8F40 .
