Fuel Injector Supply Tube: Installation

Left side 

1. Loosen the fuel rail mounting bolts.

2. NOTE: Use a deep-well crowfoot socket to tighten the fuel injector supply tube.

   Position the new fuel injector supply tubes between the fuel rail and the fuel injectors. Fully hand-start and seat the fuel injector supply tube fittings onto the fuel rail and the fuel injectors. Tighten in the stages and in the sequence shown in illustration.

   Torque;

   1-2 fuel rail mounting bolts : 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)

   3-6 fuel injector supply tube fittings to fuel injectors : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

   7-10 fuel injector supply tube fittings to fuel rail : 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

   3-6 fuel injector supply tube fittings to fuel injectors : 65°

   7-10 fuel injector supply tube fittings to fuel rail : 65°

3. Push down on the fuel injector return hose fitting tabs to connect the fuel injector return hose fittings to the fuel injectors.

4. Push down on the center of the fuel injector return hose fittings to lock the fittings to the fuel injectors.

5. • Attach the fuel injector fuel return line retainer to the fuel rail.
   • Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
   • Connect the fuel pressure control valve electrical connector.
   • Connect the fuel charging wiring harness retainers to the fuel rail.

6. Install the left engine sound shield and then install the left engine sound shield retainers.

7. Install the left fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .

   Right side

10. Push down on the fuel injector return hose fitting tabs to connect the fuel injector return hose fittings to the fuel injectors.

11. Push down on the center of the fuel injector return hose fittings to lock the fittings to the fuel injectors.

12. • Connect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
    • Connect the fuel charging wiring harness retainers to the fuel rail.

13. Install the right engine sound shield and then install the right engine sound shield retainers.

14. Install the right fender splash shield. Refer to: Fender Splash Shield .
15. Install the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .

    Both sides 

16. Connect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
17. Bleed the Fuel System. Refer to: Fuel System Bleeding .
