Fuel Injection Pump Supply Tube Assembly: Installation

    • Lubricate the new O-ring seals with clean engine oil. Refer to: Specifications .

    • Install the 2 new yellow O-ring seals on the top positions of the fuel injection pump supply tube assembly fitting.

    • Install the 2 new green O-ring seals on the lower positions of the fuel injection pump supply tube assembly fitting.

  1. NOTE: Fully seat the O-ring seals before torquing the fuel injection pump supply tube assembly manifold bolt.

    Install the fuel injection pump supply tube assembly, then install and tighten the new fuel injection pump supply tube assembly manifold bolt.

    Torque

    Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

    Stage 2: 45°

  2. Connect the fuel pressure and temperature sensor electrical connector, attach the wire retainer, then attach the fuel tube retainer.

  3. Connect the fuel rail-to-fuel injection pump return tube spring lock coupling to the rear of the left fuel rail. Refer to: Spring Lock Couplings .

  4. Connect the fuel return tube quick connect coupling to the fuel injection pump return tube. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  5. Install the left engine sound shield and install the left engine sound shield retainers.

  6. Install the lower intake manifold. Refer to: Lower Intake Manifold .
  7. Connect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  8. Bleed the fuel system. Refer to: Fuel System Bleeding .
