Fuel Tank - Vehicles With: Midship Fuel Tank: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Drain the fuel tank. Refer to: Fuel Tank Draining .

Loosen the hose clamp and disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe from the fuel tank.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Disconnect the 2 fuel line quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

- Disconnect the EVAP canister quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling

Using a suitable lifting and lowering tool, support the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank strap bolts and partially lower the fuel tank for access.
Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Detach the wire from the routing retainer and disconnect the electrical connectors.

Disconnect the fuel tank filler pipe vent tube quick release coupling. Remove the fuel tank. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
