DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition SOBDMC P2533:62 Ignition Switch On/Start Position Circuit: Signal Compare Failure This DTC sets when the module is unable to shut off during key-off. Possible Sources
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- BCM issue
- BA1 CHECK THE BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM
- Check the 12 volt battery and charging system voltages. REFER to: Charging System - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (BM) - System Operation and Component Description .
Are the battery and charging system voltages within specification?
Yes GO to BA2 No REPAIR as necessary. REFER to: Charging System - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (BM) - System Operation and Component Description . CLEAR the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. - BA2 CHECK THE ISP-R VPWR CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect BCMC C1035B.
- Disconnect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C1458A.
- Measure and record:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1035B-8 C1458A-K2
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to BA3 No REPAIR the open circuit. - BA3 CHECK THE ISP-R CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition ON.
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to BA4 - BA4 RECHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) P2533:62
- Ignition OFF.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the BCMC connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Reconnect the Inverter System Controller (ISC) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Ignition ON.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait two minutes.
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, clear the BCMC and Inverter System Controller (ISC).
- Ignition OFF.
- Start the engine.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, run the BCMC and Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-tests.
Is DTC P2533:62 present?
Yes REFER to: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Input and Output Controls . Pinpoint Test Z. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
