Pinpoint Test O: Selector Lever Does Not Match The Engaged Gear

- Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
- Transmission fault
- For vehicles equipped with a gasoline engine, CARRY OUT the KOEO and KOERPCM selft-tests. If any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) related to the transmission are present, RESOLVE those first. REFER to the Master DTC Chart.
- For vehicles equipped with a diesel engine, CARRY OUT the TCM self-test. If any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are present, REFER to: DTC Chart and Pinpoint Tests - 3.0L Power Stroke Diesel .
- Module or communication fault
- CARRY OUT the self-tests of the GSM, IPC, and PCM (vehicles equipped with a gasoline engine) or TCM (vehicles equipped with a diesel engine). If any system voltage, internal module, or communication diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are present, RESOLVE those first. REFER to the Master DTC Chart.
- Gear shift module (GSM)
- CARRY OUT the GSM self-test. If any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are present in the GSM, RESOLVE those first. Otherwise, INSTALL a new GSM. REFER to: Gear Shift Module (GSM) - Vehicles With: Column Shift .
