Pinpoint Test CI: The Message Center Warning Chime Is Inoperative

Possible Sources
- No warnings present
- IPC
- CI1 CHECK THE DOOR AJAR WARNING OPERATION
- Close the doors and the hood.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait until the IPC completes prove-out.
- Open the driver door and observe the IPC.
- Verify the IPC displays the door ajar message and the chime sounds once.
Did the door ajar message display in the message center and the chime sound once?
Yes The system is operating correctly at this time. The message center warning chime only sounds when a new warning is displayed in the message center. No If the door ajar message does not display, GO to Pinpoint Test AA If the door ajar message displays and the chime does not sound, GO to CI2 - CI2 CHECK FOR CORRECT IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect the IPC connector.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the IPC connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) . No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
