Axle Shaft: Installation

NOTE: The seal is to be reused unless damaged.
- Lubricate the axle shaft seal lip.
Material
: Motorcraft® Premium Long-Life Grease / XG-1-E1 (ESA-M1C75-B)
- Using special tools, install the new axle shaft seal if it is damaged.
Use Special Service Tool: 205-381 (T97T-1177-A) Installer, Rear Axle Oil Seal., 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle.
- Lubricate the axle shaft seal lip.
- Before installing a new sensor, inspect the sensor housing to make sure the sensor cavity is clean and free of foreign material.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Check and top off the differential fluid. Refer to: Differential Fluid Level Check .
