Pinpoint Test S: Front Wheel Contacting Suspension Control Arm

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    The SECM is able to compensate for minor front toe suspension off-set, however, if the front toe is far enough out of adjustment, the system is unable to compensate and the suspension must be manually adjusted. Also, the diagnostic scan tool must be used when adjusting the front toe of a vehicle equipped with adaptive front steering.

    Possible Sources 

    • Front toe out of adjustment

  2. S1 CHECK AND ADJUST THE FRONT TOE

    • Test drive the vehicle and check for wheel to suspension contact.

    Is the front wheel still contacting the suspension control arm? 

    Yes  REFER to SUSPENSION SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION to continue diagnosis of the suspension system.
    No  The repair is complete.
