Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS)/3.5L EcoBoost (272kW/370PS)/5.0L 32V Ti-VCT: Installation

  1. Inspect and lubricate the band seals and backing rings. Install new band seals and backing rings if necessary.

    1. Seal (7D285).
    2. Backing ring (7J324).

      Material: Motorcraft® MERCON® ULV Automatic Transmission Fluid / XT-12-QULV (WSS-M2C949-A,) (MERCON® ULV)

    1. Install the transmission fluid cooler tubes and install a new bolt.

      Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

    2. Install the cooler tube bracket bolt.

      Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

  2. Connect the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube to the transmission fluid cooler.

  3. Install the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube secondary latch.

  4. Position the transmission fluid cooler outlet tube heat shield.

  5. Connect the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube to the transmission fluid cooler.

  6. Install the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube secondary latch.

  7. Position the transmission fluid cooler inlet tube heat shield.

  8. Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
