Removal And Installation: Battery: Removal

Battery - Primary 

  1. Disconnect the battery/batteries. REFER to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  2. Remove the nuts, position the battery cable and remove the battery hold-down bracket.

    Torque: 36 lb.in (4.1 Nm)

  3. Remove the battery.

  4. If replacing the battery, remove the battery insulator.

    Battery - Secondary 

  5. Disconnect the batteries. REFER to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
    NOTE: 6.7L diesel vehicle shown in illustration, other vehicles similar.
  6. Remove the nuts, position the battery cable and remove the battery hold-down bracket.

    Torque:

    36 lb.in (4.1 Nm)

  7. Remove the battery.
