Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

See Powertrain Malfunction (Wrench) Indicator. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - System Operation and Component Description .

If the engine service required, transmission service required, 4WD service required or body service required request messages are missing or invalid for less than 5 seconds, the IPC defaults the powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator or powertrain malfunction (wrench) RTT to its last state (on or off) based upon the last message received.

If the engine service required, transmission service required, 4WD service required or body service required request messages are missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator or powertrain malfunction (wrench) RTT on.
