Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - 6.2L V8: Removal
All vehicles
- With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the radiator grille. Refer to: Radiator Grille .
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube coupling secondary latches.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the auxiliary transmission fluid cooler RH tube. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).

Using the special tool, disconnect the auxiliary transmission fluid cooler LH tube. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).
- Remove the transmission fluid in-tank cooler-to-auxiliary cooler tube secondary latch.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect and remove the transmission fluid in-tank cooler-to-auxiliary cooler tube. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).
- Remove the transmission-to-in-tank cooler tube secondary latch.

Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission-to-in-tank cooler tube. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes-to-transmission fluid cooler front tubes secondary latches.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission fluid cooler front tubes.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler front tubes retainer and remove the transmission fluid cooler front tubes.
Vehicles equipped with a 6.2L engine
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes bracket nut.
Vehicles equipped with a 6.8L engine
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes bracket nut and position the bracket aside.
- Remove the battery cable bracket nut.
- Open the starter motor solenoid battery cable cover.
- Disconnect the starter motor wiring and position the wiring harness aside.
- Remove the nut and disconnect the starter motor solenoid battery cable.
- Remove the nut and disconnect the starter motor solenoid control wire.
- Remove the nut and disconnect the ground cable.
All vehicles
- Remove the bolt and the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Inspect the transmission to be sure the transmission fluid tube seals and backing rings were removed with the transmission fluid tubes and are not stuck in the transmission. If the transmission fluid tube seals or backing rings are stuck in the transmission, remove the seals and backing rings.
