Fuel Lines - Vehicles With: Aft of Axle Fuel Tank: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
  3. Drain the aft fuel tank. Refer to: Fuel Tank Draining .
  4. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
  5. Disconnect the quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  6. Detach the retainers from the frame rail.

  7. Detach the retainers from the frame rail.

  8. Disconnect the quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  9. Remove the evaporative emission canister. Refer to: Evaporative Emission Canister .
  10. Detach the retainers from the frame rail.

  11. NOTE: Typical application shown.

    Using a suitable lifting and lowering tool, support the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank strap bolts and partially lower the fuel tank for access.

    Torque: 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)

  12. Disconnect the quick release couplings. Remove the fuel line. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
