Transmission Internal Wiring Harness: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - GT500 - Overview
  2. Disconnect the battery. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect
  3. Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill 
  4. Disconnect the bulkhead electrical connector, by rotating the connector counter clockwise.

  5. Push the bulkhead locks in and push the bulkhead connector into the transmission fluid pan.

  6. Remove the transmission fluid pan bolts and the transmission fluid pan.

    1. Remove the transmission fluid pan bolts.
    2. Push the bulkhead electrical connector through the transmission pan.
    3. Remove the transmission fluid pan.

  7. Discard the transmission seal. Clean and inspect the transmission fluid pan and magnet.

  8. Remove the transmission internal wiring harness.

    1. Remove the temperature sensor bolt.
    2. Disconnect the PLHS electrical connector and detach the connector pushpin retainer.
    3. Disconnect the solenoid connectors and remove the transmission electrical harness.
