Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill

Materials 

Draining 

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview
2. Remove the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid. Install the drain plug.

   Torque: 150 lb.in (17 Nm)

3. Remove the fluid pan drain plug and drain the transmission fluid. Install the drain plug.

   Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

Filling 

1. NOTE: Make sure that the vehicle is level.

   Remove the transmission fluid fill plug.

2. Using the fluid dispenser, add the transmission fluid through the transmission fluid fill hole. Fill the transmission until the fluid is level with the fill hole.

   Material: Motorcraft® GT500 Dual Clutch Transmission Fluid / XT-14-L

3. Install the transmission fluid fill plug.

   Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

4. Start and allow the engine to idle for a minimum of 5 minutes or maximum of 10 minutes. Turn off engine.
5. NOTE: Make sure that the vehicle is level.

   Remove the transmission fluid fill plug.

6. Using the fluid dispenser, add the transmission fluid through the transmission fluid fill hole. Fill the transmission until the fluid is level with the fill hole.

7. Install the transmission fluid fill plug.

   Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
