Transmission Control Module (TCM): Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  2. Using a diagnostic scan tool, complete the PMI process for the TCM following the on-screen instructions
  3. If a new TCM was installed, the TCM must be programmed with the Transmission Identification (TRID) data. The 11-digit TRID number can be found on the transmission barcode label on the right side of the transmission case. Using the diagnostic scan tool, carry out the following routine(s): Transmission Characterization/Solenoid IDN (identification number). Refer to: Transmission Strategy Download
