Neutral Flat Tow Activation and Deactivation

Activation
WARNING:
Shifting the transfer case to its neutral position for neutral flat towing may allow the vehicle to be able to roll even if the transmission is in park (P). Make sure the foot brake is depressed and the vehicle is in a secure and safe position while the transfer case is being shifted to its neutral position. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Do not disconnect the battery during neutral flat towing. Doing so will prevent the transfer case from shifting properly and may allow the vehicle to roll even if the transmission is in park (P). Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
WARNING:
Failure to put the transfer case in its NEUTRAL position will damage vehicle components.
WARNING:
You can only tow a 4WD vehicle with all wheels on the ground by placing the transfer case in its NEUTRAL position and engaging the four-wheel-down towing feature. Perform the following steps after positioning your vehicle behind the tow vehicle and properly securing them together.
WARNING:
Neutral flat tow status can be checked at any time by opening the driver door or turning the ignition to the ACC or ON position and checking the display in the IPC.
- Switch your vehicle to accessory mode by pressing the push button ignition switch without pressing any pedals.
- Press the
2H button on the four-wheel drive mode control.
- Fully press and hold the brake pedal and shift the transmission to neutral (N).
- Using the instrument cluster controls on the steering wheel, select
Settings .
- Select
Neutral Tow .
- Press and hold the
OK button until a confirmation message appears in the information display.
NOTE: If completed successfully, the information display shows Neutral Tow Enabled Leave Transmission in Neutral . This indicates that your vehicle is safe to tow with all wheels on the ground. - Release the brake pedal and leave the transmission in neutral (N).
- Switch your vehicle off by pressing the push button ignition switch once without pressing any pedals.
Deactivation
- With your vehicle properly secured to the tow vehicle, switch your vehicle to accessory mode by pressing the push button ignition switch without pressing any pedals.
- Fully press and hold the brake pedal and shift the transmission to park (P).

NOTE: If completed successfully, the instrument cluster displays 2H and Neutral Tow Disabled .
