Pinpoint Test X : P0A50:92

  1. Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

    REFER to: Electric Powertrain Control - System Operation and Component Description .

    DTC Fault Trigger Conditions 

    DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition
    SOBDMC P0A50:92 Generator Position Sensor Circuit Overspeed: Performance Or Incorrect Operation This DTC sets when the generator speed is above the calibrated threshold for a period of time.

    Possible Sources 

    • Transmission slips
    • Electric Motor

  2. X1 READ THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve the PCM DTCs.

    Are any DTCs present? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE all PCM DTCs. REFER to: Electronic Engine Controls .
    No  GO to  X2

  3. X2 CHECK FOR INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)

    • Ignition ON.

    • Clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, run the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.

    Is DTC P0A50 the only DTC present? 

    Yes  GO to  X3
    No  DIAGNOSE all other Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs. REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart  .

  4. X3 TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE

    Was the concern duplicated? 

    Yes  DIAGNOSE the transmission concern. REFER to: Diagnosis By Symptom .
    No  The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
