DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition SOBDMC P0C2F:62 Internal Control Module Drive Motor/Generator-Engine Speed Sensor Performance: Signal Compare Failure This DTC sets when a speed range fault is detected. SOBDMC P0C2F:63 Internal Control Module Drive Motor/Generator-Engine Speed Sensor Performance: Circuit/Component Protection Time-Out This DTC sets when a motor speed plausibility fault is detected. Possible Sources
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- Transmission Speed Sensor Resolver
- AE1 CHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS)
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, run the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.
Are DTCs P0C2F:62 or P0C2F:63 the only DTCs read from the Inverter System Controller (ISC)?
Yes GO to AE2 No DIAGNOSE all other Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs. REFER to the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Chart . - AE2 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CALIBRATION LEVEL
- Verify the Inverter System Controller (ISC) is at the latest calibration level.
Is the Inverter System Controller (ISC) at the latest calibration level?
Yes GO to AE3 No UPDATE the Inverter System Controller (ISC) to the latest calibration level. - AE3 CHECK THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR SPEED RESOLVER FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect Transmission Sensor Speed Resolver C1280.
- Disconnect Inverter System Controller (ISC) C1458A.
- Measure and record:

Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
Yes GO to AE4 No REPAIR the open circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - AE4 CHECK THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR SPEED RESOLVER FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Measure and record:

Are the resistances greater than 10K ohms?
Yes GO to AE5 No REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - Measure and record:
- AE5 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CIRCUITS FOR SHORTED TOGETHER
- Measure and record:

Are the resistances greater than 10K ohms?
Yes GO to AE6 No REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. - Measure and record:
- AE6 CHECK THE INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition ON.
- Measure and record:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead C1458A-A1 Ground C1458A-B1 Ground C1458A-A2 Ground C1458A-B2 Ground C1458A-A3 Ground C1458A-B3 Ground
Is any voltage present?
Yes REPAIR the short circuit. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No GO to AE7 - AE7 CHECK FOR CORRECT INVERTER SYSTEM CONTROLLER (ISC) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all Inverter System Controller (ISC) connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the Inverter System Controller (ISC) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Connect Transmission Sensor Speed Resolver C1280.
- Ignition ON.
- Clear the Inverter System Controller (ISC) DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Start the engine.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, run the Inverter System Controller (ISC) self-test.
Are DTCs P0C2F:62 or P0C2F:63 the only DTCs present?
Yes INSTALL a new low voltage harness between the Inverter System Controller (ISC) and the electric motor. CLEAR the DTCs and REPEAT the self-test. No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
