Pinpoint Test D: The Parking Aid Disable Switch Led (Light Emitting Diode) Is Inoperative Or Always On

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
DTC Description Fault Trigger Condition PAM B1B54:11 Function LED - Park Aid: Circuit Short To Ground A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets when the parking aid disable status LED circuit is shorted to ground. PAM B1B54:15 Function LED - Park Aid: Circuit Short To Battery Or Open A continuous and on-demand DTC that sets when the parking aid disable status LED circuit is open or shorted battery voltage. Possible Sources
- Wiring, terminals or connectors
- PAM
- Auto-start-stop-deactivation switch
- D1 RETRIEVE THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Ignition ON.
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the PAM self-test.
Is DTC B1B54:11 present?
Yes GO to D4 No If the LED is inoperative, GO to D3 If the LED is always on, GO to D2 - D2 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect PAM C4226A.
- Ignition ON.
Does the LED continue to illuminate?
Yes REPAIR the circuit. No GO to D7 - D3 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect PAM C4226A.
- Disconnect auto-start-stop-deactivation switch C3010.
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes GO to D5 No REPAIR the circuit. - D4 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect PAM C4226A.
- Disconnect auto-start-stop-deactivation switch C3010.
- Measure:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Refer to C3010-7 Ground
Is the resistance greater than 10, 000 ohms?
Yes GO to D5 No REPAIR the circuit. - D5 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) WITH THE PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) BYPASSED
- Connect auto-start-stop-deactivation switch C3010.
- Connect a fused jumper wire:
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Refer to C4226A-4 Battery positive
Does the LED illuminate?
Yes REMOVE the fused jumper wire. GO to D7 No GO to D6 - D6 CHECK THE AUTO-START-STOP-DEACTIVATION SWITCH GROUND
- Disconnect auto-start-stop-deactivation switch C3010.
- Measure
Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead Refer to C3010-12 Ground
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
Yes INSTALL a new auto-start-stop-deactivation switch. No REPAIR the circuit. - D7 CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (PARKING ASSIST CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect and inspect all PAM connectors.
- Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals - clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary
- Reconnect the PAM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new PAM. REFER to: Parking Assist Control Module (PAM) No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
